Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary

345 Bone Hill Road

Make a Cape Cod nature day out of Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary, where gentle woodland and meadow trails lead toward views of Barnstable Harbor and Sandy Neck. Families can explore 2.5 miles of trails, look for birds and butterflies, and leave plenty of time for the Nature Play Area. The play space turns a fallen tree into an adventure: kids can crawl through a hollow stump tunnel, climb branches, and try balance beams and a branch bridge. A musical pebble harp and an art easel add more ways to explore, with picnic tables and benches nearby for a break. Trails are open daily from dawn to dusk. The Nature Center is open Tuesday–Sunday, 9 AM–3 PM. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors ages 65+, and $4 for children ages 2–12; children under 2 and Mass Audubon members receive free admission. EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare cardholders can receive free admission for up to four people with their card. Special programs may have separate fees and registration. Visit at 345 Bone Hill Road, Barnstable. Facilities include parking, picnic tables, accessible restrooms and a universally accessible Nature Center, plus 0.36 miles of universally accessible trail—not the entire trail network. Stay on marked trails and do not feed wildlife. Pets are not permitted; service animals are welcome. Check the sanctuary’s website for current conditions before your visit.
