Homeschool Explorers: Leaves, Trees, & Life Cycles
Thursday, October 29, 2026, 10:00 AM · North River Wildlife Sanctuary — Nature Center · Marshfield
Trees are remarkable living systems, quietly sustaining life by cleaning our air, storing carbon, sheltering wildlife, and shaping the landscapes we cherish. In this homeschool program, young naturalists head outside with their caregiver and a Mass Audubon educator to explore the fascinating differences between evergreen and deciduous trees, learn basic tree bud identification skills, and uncover how trees quietly support local animals getting ready for winter. Small group sizes mean plenty of time for close observation, questions, and the kind of discovery that sticks. A great way to bring the science of trees to life on the sanctuary trails. For families with children ages 7–11. Advance registration is required for this individual session. Adult Members $12; Adult Nonmembers $15; Child Members $12; Child Nonmembers $15. Meet in the Nature Center. Bring sturdy footwear for up to 1.5 miles of uneven terrain.
