Family Farm Chores at Appleton Farms
Friday, November 20, 2026, 4:00 PM · Appleton Farms · Ipswich
Pull on your boots and give the farm animals a helping hand. Kids and grown-ups work together on the day's barnyard jobs, which might mean gathering eggs, filling hay feeders, cleaning stalls or helping in the garden. The tasks change with the weather and what the animals need, so each visit brings a different bit of farm life. Best for ages 3+ with an accompanying adult; this is not a drop-off activity. Both adults and children need tickets: $10 each for Trustees members or $15 each for nonmembers. Register ahead. Wear closed-toe shoes and weather-ready layers, and expect some mud. The program runs in ordinary rain; extreme-weather cancellations are sent by email. Enter from Route 1A at 219 County Road in Ipswich. At the Welcome House, bear right toward the Farmhouse and park by the white Farmhouse/Farm Offices. Meet at the Carriage Barn across the stone paddock.
